"I have always been a Communication Agent of sorts, selecting information and bringing it to the attention of others who could possibly use it in their activities, and I still do this, using normal e-mail.

Until Robin Good came along and suggested a different path, I thought I was doing just great.

Why should I do anything different - I thought. I was proud of the good job I was doing with just e-mail as
a tool (I still am), however I admit I had no idea of what other exciting tools exist that can make such an activity MUCH MORE effective. Yet, it was not until Robin actually offered me - without any strings attached - a site where to make my knowledge available to a broader audience, and I actually started using the site for some weeks, that I got an idea of the potential of this initiative.

What's truly amazing is that we are still at the beginning! We are currently testing and scouting tools and we are finding ways to increase our reach. I am starting to appreciate the incredible power of the tools we are dealing with, and the value of a "concerted effort" on the part of several like-minded individuals to put these tools to good and positive use.

Personally, I find that even the first stage of the CommAgents initiative has allowed me to "get my head above the water". My e-mail activities were taking up too much of my time. Accepting Robin's offer has simplified my task and is taking much of that activity onto a new and unexpected plane.

I can now use my time more efficiently - something I did not think possible before - to provide selected groups of people with useful information.

I also see that my site is rapidly becoming a well visited and stable "information provider" for many people out there that I did not know before. I had no way of reaching those people by e-mail, simply because there are inherent limitations in the "old approach" of using e-mail only, even in combination with a traditional website.

Making content available on my site is just as easy as sending it out on e-mail lines, but it has proven to be much more efficient. My site is now on one of the "news aggregators", sites that specialize in picking up selected news from a number of sources and offering it to others looking for such news.

I am looking forward to the discoveries that are continuing to emerge.
I am sure there is still a lot to learn.

"For some time I had been thinking on how to increase the reach for the information that commercial interests have little motivation to provide - but due to time constraints (holding a full time job) it became increasing clear that a web page just would not be feasible.

Then incredibly, Robin Good came along and made a highly tempting proposal - not only would I get a ready made web page but he would provide training on how to be an effective Communication Agent. Now I must admit some of the proposals he made were very novel and I was caught off guard to see the
potential of some of the ideas he presented.

At first it all sounded too time consuming and difficult, never the less, it was just too hard to pass up this dream opportunity. I agreed to take up the challenge thinking that I could always pass it up should it not go the way it was supposed to, as he made no conditions for this incredible offer.

I found Robin to be an incredible teacher and I was hooked. He has taken out the drudgery of Web mastering and focused on the job of communicating. With his transatlantic voice communications software (he is in Italy, I in Canada) it took less than hour and we were up and running. Besides being incredibly exciting this in itself was quite a feat!

Of course there is much more to learn and sometimes it's hard to keep up but Robin has a way to mentor that helps me focus on the most salient aspects of this challenge. I have found the experience both full filling and effective.

The major benefits of having a web presence of course is the incredible flexibility it affords over email.

Although I have still maintained the email method of communicating while I continue to learn more. The Web page is so simple to update that it literally invites on going hyper linking to the evolving information one finds and late breaking news and discoveries something not possible with email. As this is an evolving project and more CA's join I am expecting new synergies that should easily surpass the original expectations.

New ideas as those introduced by Robin allowed me to really stretch my thinking thus allowing for fresh communication methods that I never thought possible. The ease of getting started; and the superior mentoring; this is an opportunity that no Communication Agent should miss.

Particularly as I see Robin's intent is to empower me with teaching tools and not become dependent on him!
